Death Chase Awarded At Alhama de Cine

The filmmaker Ángel Gómez Hernández has been awarded at the 3rd Festival Alhama Ciudad de Cine (Andalusia, Spain) because of its work in the direction of the short film Death Chase (Y la muerte lo seguía).

The short film Death Chase (Y la muerte lo seguía), directed by Ángel Gómez Hernández, won an award yesterday night, 31th August, during the closing gala of the 3rd Festival Alhama Ciudad de Cine.

Specifically, Ángel Gómez Hernández has won the Best Film Direction Award for its latest short film Death Chase.

The 3rd Festival Alhama Ciudad de Cine took place in Alhama de Granada (Andalusia, Spain) on Friday 30th August and Saturday 31th August.

Over 200 film work had been submitted to the third edition of this film competition this year.

This was the first time that the Festival Alhama de Cine launched a short film contest.

Death Chase competed in the Fiction category, which comprised 10 candidates. The finalists which were contending along with Death Chase by Ángel Gómez Hernández were: ¡Bingo! by David Turpin & Franz Nurmi, Mr. Bear by Andrés Rosende, Nana by Alberto Santaella, El ritmo en sus venas by Juan Alberto Poveda, Defeated by José Manuel Meneses Martínez, El amor a los 20 años by Javier Rodríguez Espinosa, El rastrillo se quiere comprometer by Santi Veiga, Huir by Silvestre García, and Mensaje post-itivo by Alfredo Alegría.

Additionally, the festival was also showcasing 6 finalists in the Animation category and 5 films produced in the village of Alhama de Granada and surroundings.

The rest of the winners of this festival have not officially announced yet: the Best Fiction Short Film Award, the Best Animation Short Film Award, the Best Acting Award, and the Best Screenplay Award. More information should be available soon.
