Hibernation Wins Toletum Award

The short film Hibernation, directed by Jon Mikel Caballero, has won the Toletum Award to Best National (Spanish) Short Film, given by the Corto-Joven Ciudad de Toledo (Spain).
Last Saturday 7th September, at the end of the 6th Concurso Corto-Joven Ciudad de Toledo (Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain), the list of winners of this film competition was unveiled. The main award of this festival, the Toletum Award to Best National (Spanish) Short Film, had gone to the short film directed by Jon Mikel Caballero, Hibernation.
Hibernation, which has been directed by Jon Mikel Caballero and produced by Ainur Films, was one of the 14 short films that were competing for the Toletum Award (Premio Toletum), including another three shorts promoted by [ The House of Films ] —besides of 6xpersona by Juan Carlevaris which was competing for the Creative Award.
The shorts selected in this Toletum Award category were: Proyect K-9 by many authors, T'adhib by Raquel Bedia, La niña by Alberto Carpintero, Ironías de la vida by Ignacio Sepúlveda, 30 segundos by Javi Muños, Aniversario by Luis Miguel Granda Suárez, ¡Bingo! by David Turpin & Franz Normi, Euthanas Inc. (Eutanas SA) by Víctor Nores, Fuero by Juanma Juárez, The First Night (La primera noche) by Eduardo Moyano Fernández, Hibernation by Jon Mikel Caballero, Reencuentro by Juan Luis Moreno Somé, Monster Do Not Exist by Paúl Urkijo, and Sinceridad by Andrea Casaseca.
Eventually, Hibernation has won in this category and it has obtained a € 1,200 cash-prize.
The winners of the 6th Concurso Corto-Joven Ciudad de Toledo are:
- Toletum Award to Best Spanish Short Film: Hibernation by Jon Mikel Caballero.
- Creative Award (Premio Creative) to Best Short Film From Castilla-La Mancha: Té pakistaní by Daniel Ramírez Rubio.
- Zoco Award (Premio Zoco) to Best Short Film From Toledo: Two Bullets For Snake Eyes by Héctor Sánchez.
The 6th Corcurso Corto-Joven Ciudad de Toledo was held from 5th to 7th September, 2013, in Toledo. This edition's Official Competition, divided into three categories, consisted of 31 short films. The number of audiovisual works submitted to the 2013 festival reached 121. In the Toletum Award category, the award won by Hibernation, 93 short films were submitted.
Congratulations to all winners, specially to the crew and casting of Hibernation. Of course, and above all, to its director, Jon Mikel Caballero, and to its produced, Cristian Guijarro.
