The Fimucinema of the current year 2016 has chosen two short films promoted at festivals by [ The House of Films ]. Bus Story by Jorge Yúdice and One Step Ahead by Caque & Juan Trueba brothers are the selected shorts of this new edition and they are going to Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain).
The Fimucité 10 - Festival Internacional de Música de Cine de Tenerife (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain) is switching on its film projectors today, Saturday 24th September. They are going to keep them working until Sunday 2nd October.
The Fimucité, which is mainly focused on film music, has a film competition, called Fimucinema, reaching its four edition. Precisely, the short films Bus Story, directed by Jorge Yúdice, and One Step Ahead, co-directed by Caque & Juan Trueba are going to compete in the Fimucinema 2016.
In fact, One Step Ahead by Caque & Juan Trueba brothers is going to be screened first, on Monday 26th September. The TEA (Tenerife Espacio de las Artes) is the venue selected for carrying this screening out. The session will begin at 17:00 hours. The music of this film has been composed by Mario Viñuela.
The screening of the short Bus Story by Jorge Yúdice will come on Wednesday 28th September from 17:00 hours. The TEA will be the site for this short screening event. The composer of the soundtrack of this short film is Truffle.
The films selected at this year's Fimucinema consists of 6 full-length films, 40 short films (both fiction and animation), and 5 documentaries.

Since the Fimucinema is a chapter of the Fimucité, essentially a musical festival, the organization has specifically underlined the names of the directors and the music composer of the selected films. Thus, the 40 nominees in the short film competition of this year's edition have been:

For their part, the selected documentaries, five in total, are: Bocagrande, directed by Jaime González and music by Scinsonte; Ecuador, con los ojos cerrados, directed by Daniel Chamorro and music by Daniel Chamorro; La habitación del fondo, directed by Sunday Doreste and music by Ner Suárez; Más arriba de todos, directed by Elisa Bucchi and music by Nicola Bogo; and Mujeres de la mar, directed by Marta Solano and music by Román Cano.
Furthermore, we have mentioned the feature films that have been selected. Five full-length films have entered into the Official Selection: Battledream Chronicle, directed by Alain Bidard and music by Alain Bidard; El destierro, directed by Arturo Ruiz Serrano and music by Iván Ruiz Serrano; Los días vacíos, directed by Daniel León Lacave and music by Jonay Armas; Native, directed by Daniel Fitzsimmons and music by Baltic Fleet; and Pájaros negros, directed by Fercks Castellani and music by Pablo Sala. One more film has to be mentioned: the Opening Film of this festival, titled Playing Lecuona, directed by Pavel Giroud & Juan Manuel Villar Betancort and music by Ernesto Lecuona & Richard Córdoba.
All the activities on film music of the Fimucité and the Fimucinema will come to an end on Sunday 2nd October. Amongst other things, that very Sunday they will unveil the winning titles of the film competition. Those winners will be shown during the closing gala, after the awards ceremony. The organizers will hold this event at the Multicines Tenerife, located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
