The short films Don't Leave Me (No me quites) by Laura Jou and Bus Story by Jorge Yúdice has just ended their participation at the Festival FICUABC, the Festival Internacional de Cine de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, which finished yesterday in Mexicali (Baja California, Mexico).
From Monday 17th October to Friday 21st, that is, until yesterday, Mexicali, the capital of Mexican state of Baja California, hosted the Festival Internacional de Cine de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California - FICUABC 2016. Among the films that came to this film competition, it should be highlighted the participation of the successful Don't Leave Me, directed by Laura Jou and co-produced by Corte y Confección de Películas & Películas La Trini, and Bus Story, directed by Jorge Yúdice.
These two shorts were part of the Selección Muestra Oficial FICUABC 2016 (Official Selection). Because of these nominations, Don't Leave Me by Laura Jou was screened on Tuesday 18th October at the Teatro Universitario of Mexicali while Bus Story by Jorge Yúdice was shown yesterday, Friday 21st October, also at the Teatro Universitario.

The Selección Muestra Oficial FICUABC 2016 consisted of 34 international short films on this occasion. The films selected in this category were: Deda by Rati Tsiteladze (Georgia), 17 años juntos by Javier Fesser (Spain), Ambulante by Antonio José Meza Cárdenas (Colombia), Braquage sérénade by Guillaume De Ginestel (France), Vostok by Miquel Casals (Spain), Faux départ by François Zaïdi (France), KA by Teo Belton (Peru), Lurna by Nani Matos (Spain), Twine by Richard Heap (United Kingdom), Ego Light by Philippe Jasmin (France), L'ombra di caino by Antonio De Palo (Italy), Hostal Edén by Gonzaga Manso (Spain), Plumés by Camille Pernin (France), Mírame a los ojos by Olga Alamán (Spain), and Underwater by Virginie Caloone (France).
Adding these two categories, the Festival Internacional de Cine de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California - FICUABC 2016 has shown a total sum of 49 international short films during the five days that it has lasted. The selected shorts have been filmed in Spain (13), France (10), Mexico (5), Colombia (4), Brazil (2), Italy (2), Russia (2), Germany (1), Argentina (1), Belgium (1), Georgia (1), Luxembourg (1), Peru (1), United Kingdom (1), Czech Republic (1), Sweden (1), Switzerland (1), and Uruguay (1).
In addition, the FICUABC of the current year 2016 showcased a series of short films from the state of Baja California gathered under the title "Cimarrón en Corto FICUABC 2016". 8 shorts films were exhibited in this section of the festival.
Despite the screenings having end yesterday, the Festival has not completely finished its activities yet. These activities will continue today, Saturday 22nd, and tomorrow, Sunday 23rd, with several film workshops.
