The short film directed by Raúl Cerezo and titled 8 has won a new award. In early February, 8 got the Third Audience Award at the 4th Horror, Fantastic and Gore Film Exhibition of Alcantarilla (Muestra de Cine de Terror, Fantástico y Gore de Alcantarilla, Murcia, Spain).

8 by Raúl Cerezo was one of the 11 finalists at this festival, which took place last January 28th. Eventually, 8 won the Third Audience Award while the short Metal Creepers by Adrián Cardona & J. Oskura Nájera won the First Audience Award and Decapoda Shock by Javier Chillón won the Second Audience Award. Additionally, the film festival organizers unveiled a Jury's Award for the short film Decapoda Shock, so this film won two awards.

Although all the winners have been filmed in Spain, the Muestra of Alcantarilla showed short films coming from other countries such as Italy, United Kingdom, France, Germany, United States, and Canada.

8, the short film by Raúl Cerezo, is one of the most prominent shorts of the 2011-2012 season. It has usually gone to Spanish and international film festivals during last months and it has won several awards: the Best Music Award (for Voro García) at the Mostra de Cine Jove d’Elx (Elche, Spain), the Best Short Film Award at the XIII Semana Internacional de Cine Fantástico de la Costa del Sol (Estepona, Spain), the Jury's Award at The Antic Horror Picture Show (Barcelona, Spain), the Brigadoon-Paul Naschy for Best Short Film at the 44ª edition of Sitges Film Festival (Spain), as well as the award that it has recently won at Alcantarilla.
