Jose Veiga was born in Vigo (Galicia, Spain) in 1972. He studied Economics at the University of Vigo. He started to work in the Film Club Lumière at his hometown. In 2004 he moved to Madrid to continue his career as independent producer and distributor.

Jose Veiga was born in Vigo (Galicia, Spain) in 1972. He studied Economics at the University of Vigo. During his college years, he began to get involved in audiovisual arts. He started to collaborate with Film Club Lumière at Vigo. Inmediately, he worked in his first shooting in 1998: the short film The Last Patrol, by Cora Peña, which was a big milestone in local and regional audiovisual industry.

Since then, he collaborates in many audiovisual projects. In 2001, Óscar Suárez, Claudia Brenlla, Raquel Vázquez and Jose Veiga establish the production company La Casa Mortimer. In 2001, Jose Veiga also works in several short films and documentaries.

When La Casa Mortiner close down, Jose Veiga moves to Madrid in 2004 to continue his filmmaking studies and his own career as director and producer. In Madrid he writes and directs his first short films: El Ayer ("Yesterday"), Pim, Pom..., Pum... y Pam, Ámame ("Love Me"), Siguiente! ("Next, please"), Tu silencio mata mi alma ("Your Silence Kills My Soul"); and more recent El final de una línea muy corta ("The End of a Very Short Line"), and El comienzo ("The Beginning"). He has also continued his career as scriptwriter in Madrid. In 2008 he won the MUCES Award for the Best Feature Film Script for a story titled 24h taxi. Nowadays, he is working in the preproduction of this feature film.

During this time, Jose Veiga has also progressed as independent producer. In 2006, he worked as production manager for Milagros ("Miracles"), a short film written and directed by Javier Figuero. In 2008 he worked again for Javier Figuero as production manager of Figuero's next short film Tablas ("Stage").

On the other hand, he has continued to collaborate in short films and productions of all kinds. Currently, he is preparing the shooting of his coming short film Una casa en la playa ("A House on the Beach").
