La Noche de los Cortos of Lima Selects ”The Second Awakening of Blindness”, Goodbye, Doll, and Lightness

The Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes "La Noche de los Cortos" ("The Night of Shorts" International Short Film Festival), held in Lima, the capital of Peru, has selected three fiction short films promoted at festivals by [ The House of Films ]. The selected shorts are The Second Awakening of Blindness (El segundo amanecer de la ceguera) by Mauricio Franco, Goodbye, Doll (Adiós, muñeca) by Hugo Sanz, and Lightness (Levedad) by Lucía del Río.

From September 1st to 8th 2010 the 3rd Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes "La Noche de los Cortos" ("The Night of Shorts" International Short Film Festival) of Lima, Peru, is going to screen the short films The Second Awakening of Blindness (El segundo amanecer de la ceguera) directed by Mauricio Franco, Goodbye, Doll (Adiós, muñeca) directed by Hugo Sanz and produced by 29Letras, and Lightness (Levedad) directed by Lucía del Río. These three shorts, which are promoted at festivals by [ The House of Films ], has been nominated for the International Short Film Official Competition of the third edition of this Peruvian festival.

The Festival Board of "The Night of Shorts" has received 235 short films coming from 35 countries this year. The Official Competition has 47 works which are going to be shown between September 2nd and 7th 2010 at the UVK Multicines Larcomar in Lima.

On the other hand, the Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes "La Noche de los Cortos" will show a Muestra Internacional No Competitiva (Out of Competition International Screenings) and a Muestra No Competitiva de Cortos Peruanos (Out of Competition Peruvian Short Film Screenings). Finally, the Jury will announced the winners of the 2nd Concurso Nacional de Proyectos de Cortometrajes (Peruvian Short Film Project Contest).

It happens that the director of The Second Awakening of Blindness, Mauricio Franco, was born at the city of Lima. Furthermore, some members of the crew of this film were Peruvian, although all of them live currently in Madrid, Spain.
