Levedad (Lightness) by Lucía del Río has been selected for the Young Values Film Festival of Barcelona, Spain. It will compete for the Best Short Film Award.

After being nominated for the Festival de Cine de Alicante (Spain), Levedad, the short film directed by Lucía del Río, has won a new selection for the Young Values Film Festival. The short film will compete in the Social Values International Category for the Best Short Film Award. This award is granted with €1,000.

Levedad (Lightness) is about a happy family. Nevertheless, this false happiness hides the truth that only a little girl could reveal.

The Contest will be in Barcelona (Spain) on June 12th, 2010. In a compressed running show, from 11:00 h till 18:00 h., there will be screened all the contending films. In the International Category, Levedad (Lightness) by Lucía del Río will be shown along with Homeland by Juan de Dios Marfil, Tránsito by León Siminiani, La autoridad by Xavi Sala, Yanindara by Lluis Quilez, 17 del 17 by Silvestre García, Il male absoluto by Francesco Colangelo, Disculpen las molestias by Nuria Gil and Baltazar Rodes, Lost by Alberto Dorado, El escondite by Jose Miguel Adamuz Alcaide, Negritud by Patrick Bencomo, Breu by Jerónimo Rocha, Luciérnaga by Carlota Coronado, On The Line by Jon Garaño, Cierre Noche by Mariano Salvador, La pelota de fútbol by Laura González, Zapatos by Álvaro Aranguez, and La condena by Mario de la Torre.

There are also a category for filmmakers living in Barcelona which is going to screen La historia de siempre by José Luis Montesinos, Hospital de Muñecas by Claudia Flores, Vida de perro by Carlos Font, Nuestras estrategias by Cervera brothers, Los zapatos de un niño by María Alejandra, Gotas by Abel Castro, and El principio del fin by John Herranz. Also, the "Porter i Moix" Category will show films from several Catalan schools and universities: Radis by Síbila Estruch, Absència by Javi Muñoz, Un mundo de juguete by Ana Puit Juste, Jingle Bells by David Casademunt, Lo pequeño es bello by Irene Terrón, L'altre by Ventura Orriols, and Barnagraphic by Guido Renzin.

Finally, during the closing ceremony the Jury will announce the Rovira-Beleta Award for the Best Short Film Screenplay Prize, granted with €2,000.
