[ The House of Films ] have entered at the Fescigu 2010" width="200" height="282"/>The short films Puntu by Eva Gallego, Lightness (Levedad) by Lucía del Río, El segundo amanecer de la ceguera (The Second Awakening of Blindness) by Mauricio Franco, and Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll) by Hugo Sanz, all of them promoted at festivals by [ The House of Films ], have been entered the next Fescigu, Festival de Cine Solidario de Guadalajara (Spain).

The 8th Festival de Cine Solidario de Guadalajara FESCIGU (8th Guadalajara Solidarity Film Festival) has selected the short films Puntu by Eva Gallego, Lightness (Levedad) by Lucía del Río, El segundo amanecer de la ceguera (The Second Awakening of Blindness) by Mauricio Franco, and Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll) by Hugo Sanz. Lightness (Levedad) by Lucía del Río, El segundo amanecer de la ceguera (The Second Awakening of Blindness) by Mauricio Franco, and Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll) by Hugo Sanz are going to contend inside the Sección Oficial de Cortometrajes (Short Film Official Competition) of this festival. For its part, Puntu by Eva Gallego is going to participate inside the Sección Cine Comprometido (Committed Films Competition) during a session devoted to senior people and called "Accumulated Young".

The Fescigu of Guadalajara (Spain) is scheduled from September 28th to October 2nd 2010. The Festival Board has received this year more than 290 works. The Spanish festival has several categories: Sección Oficial de Cortometrajes (Official Short Film Competition), Sección Requetecortos (More Than Short Film Competition), Sección Cine Comprometido (Committed Films Competition), and Espacio Ecominuto (One Minute Eco Short Film Category).

Lightness (Levedad) by Lucía del Río, El segundo amanecer de la ceguera (The Second Awakening of Blindness) by Mauricio Franco, and Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll) by Hugo Sanz are going to compete inside the Sección Oficial de Cortometrajes. This Official Short Film Competition is open to Spanish filmmakers or filmmakers who reside in Spain. There is also a category, called Sección Requetecortos (literally, very very short films), for shorts under 6 minutes long.

For its part, the Sección Cine Comprometido, where Puntu (in English: Dot) by Eva Gallego is going to compete, is open to audiovisual works which are focused on socially committed themes, whatever format they are filmed.

Finally, there is a category, called Espacio Ecominuto, for worldwide authors who have directed short films about climatic changes and its aftermath. The calling for entries will be open till August 10th 2010.

The short fim Puntu has been recently added to the catalogue of [ The House of Films ]. Puntu is a short film directed by Eva Gallego. The story is about love at the retirement age. The film is told through two loving characters.

Lightness (Levedad) by Lucía del Río deals with the complexity and, sometimes, insincerity of familiar relationships through the eyes of a little girl. Lightness has been selected at several Spanish and international festivals: the 10º Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes al Aire Libre de Barranquilla (Colombia), the V Festival de Cine de Alicante (Spain), the Young Values Film Festival (Spain), the 8th International Short Film Festival de Balchik (Bulgaria), the Zanzibar International Film Festival (Tanzania), the Buster FilmFestival (Denmark), the Festival Islantilla Cinefórum (Spain) and the Lola Kenya Screen (Kenya).

On the other hand, Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll), a short film directed by Hugo Sanz and produced by 29Letras, is one of the most successful Spanish short films nowadays. It has won several awards since its premiere, but some prizes for its main actress, Sara Casasnovas. Adiós, muñeca has been rewarded at the Festival Korterraza of Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain), at the IV Festival Digital Internacional de Cortometrajes El Sector (Spain) which also awards Sara Casasnovas, at the 5º Corto Festival DUNAS de Cine y Vídeo de Fuerteventura (Spain) which awards Sara Casasnovas, at the VI Festival ARTIfice de Loja (Spain), at the Kimera International Film Festival de Campobasso (Italy) which considers Sara Casasnovas as Best Actress, at the Corto Helvetico al Femminile (Switzerland), at the XXII Certamen de Cortometrajes de Carabanchel (Spain), and at the Festival Internacional “Almería en Corto” (Spain). Within the recent days, it has entered at the 15éme Festival du Cinema Espagnol de Toulouse Midi-Pyrenees (France), at the 9º Certamen de Cortometrajes El Pecado (Spain), at the VI [ REC ] Ribadedeva En Corto (Spain), at the Festival de Cine de Madrid PNR (Spain), just for mention some of the most relevant festivals.
