Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll), the short film directed by Hugo Sanz and produced by Almeria-based production company 29Letras, has won the festival Corto Helvetico al Femminale of Lugano (Switzerland). Last night, March 8th 2010, the Festival Jury has unveiled that Adiós, muñeca is the Best Fiction Short Film. This morning, the director of the competition, Pilar Knoller, has informed the crew of Adiós, muñeca about the prize they have won last night. The Jury, whose members are well-known professionals in the Swiss audiovisual industry, has awarded Adiós, muñeca by Hugo Sanz as the Best Fiction Short Film. This festival, which announced its prizes on the International Women's Day, is specially devoted to the role of women in cinema arts. The Jury members have highlighted the excellent work of filmmaking, scriptwriting, and acting of Adiós, muñeca. Besides, Corto Helvetico al Femminale festival has awarded the best documentary, animation, and video art films. This international award adds to the last February won at the Semana de Cine Español de Carabanchel (Madrid) by Adiós, muñeca. In addition, Adiós, muñeca had yet won, even when it was only a production project, the Award for the Best National Production Project granted by the Festival Internacional “Almería en Corto” 2008. Currently, Adiós, muñeca has entered also at the 4th International Short Film Festival of India (ISFFI), the Certamen de Cortometrajes Andaluces Diputación de Málaga (Andalusia, Spain), the Festival ARTÍfice de Video-Cortometraje of Loja (Granada, Andalusia, Spain), and the Festival Contraplano of Segovia (Spain).
