The 33rd Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Elche (Spain) has nominated the documentary film I Want to Be a Gazelle (Quiero ser una gacela) by Ana Rodríguez Rosell and the short Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll) by Hugo Sanz for its Official Competition.

The documentary I Want to Be a Gazelle (Quiero ser una gacela) produced by Jana Films and directed by Ana Rodríguez Rosell and the fiction short film Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll), a production by 29Letras which Hugo Sanz directed, has added a new nomination each one for this week. Today, the Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Elche (Elche International Independent Film Festival, Spain) has selected both works for its contest.

This Festival will take place in the Spanish Levante city of Elche from July 16th to 23rd, 2010. This will be the 33rd competition of this festival created in 1978. This year's contest includes a total of 61 films in competition. The Festival of Elche presents several prizes: the Best Short Films "Caja Mediterráneo" Award granted with €10,000; the Best Fiction Short Film "Ayuntamiento de Elche" Award granted with €4,000; the Best Animation Short Film Award granted with €3,000; the Best Documentary Short Film Award also granted with €3,000; the Audience Award granted with €2,500; and the "Camon" Award rewarded with €1,000 and devoted to less-than-5-minutes shorts uploaded to festival's website.

Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll) by Hugo Sanz will contend for the Best Fiction Short Film Award, while I Want to Be a Gazelle (Quiero ser una gacela) by Ana Rodríguez Rosell will compete for the Best Documentary Short Film Award.
