Adiós, Muñeca Nominated for the Villa de La Almunia

Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll) has been nominated for the Best Short Film Award at the Jornadas de Cine Villa de La Almunia, which will be from May 7th to 15th, 2010, in La Almunia de Doña Godina (Saragossa, Spain).

Adiós, muñeca (Goodbye, Doll), the short film directed by Hugo Sanz and produced by 29Letras, gets a new selection in a Spanish festival. Now, it has been selected for the Muestra "Adolfo Aznar" organized by the Jornadas de Cine Villa de La Almunia. Adiós, muñeca is one of the candidates for the Best Short Film Award.

The Jornadas de Cine Villa de La Almunia take place every year in the Aragonese town of La Almunia de Doña Godina and they are organized by the Asociación Cultural "Florián Rey". Settled in a less-than-8,000-inhabitant village, the Asociación "Florián Rey" is devoted to the memory of Florián Rey and Adolfo Aznar, two filmmakers from this town. The Jornadas de Cine consist in a short film competition, the muestra "Adolfo Aznar", a screenplay competition, and the "Florián Rey" Prize. The "Florián Rey" Prize awards the most relevant Spanish filmmakers and actors. In addition, the Jornadas de Cine Villa de La Almunia reward the best Aragonese short films and, also, the best short films from the Valdejalón area.

The "Florián Rey" Prize, which started in 1998, has yet been granted to Juanjo Ballesta, María Valverde, Carlos Saura, Fernando Trueba, Maribel Verdú, Aurora Bautista, Antonio Resines, Antón García Abril, Ana Belén, María Barranco, Santiago Segura, Verónica Forqué, Luis García Berlanga, and José Luis Borau.

The coming Jornadas will be between May 7th and 15th.
